On our farm, we regularly carry out various blueberry experiments.
Here we would like to present one of the areas where we planted blueberry plants in a row without any spacing between them.
Thanks to this planting method and intensive pruning (removal of old branches), we achieved a row densely filled with young shoots.

As is well known, young shoots produce the best yields and fruit quality. This type of planting is likely too dense for commercial production, but this will become clear in the coming years.
Most of the bushes in our plantation are planted with a spacing of 0.8 m between plants. This spacing has proven to be a very good solution.
The photo below shows six-year-old Bluecrop bushes planted at 0.8 m spacing.
The bush on the right is before pruning, while the one on the left is after pruning.
